iGenius employees will be able to work from home as much as they want, iGenius CEO Uljan Sharka announced in a company-wide Zoom meeting in March 2020.
“Employees will have the flexibility of deciding whether or not to come into the office from now on”, said Sharka, “the choice is up to them. This is in line with our top company value: people first.”
“Before the coronavirus pandemic”, added Sharka, “we had had discussions internally about extending our policy on remote work, which used to allow employees to work from home one day a week. Covid-19 made it perfectly clear that productivity and teamwork are not confined to the office walls: we have seen no decrease in productivity during the lockdown months. If anything, quite the opposite: our team has proved to be resilient and dedicated.”
As lockdown restrictions start to ease in Europe, the iGenius Milan head office and Swiss R&D center are now open for business, though in strict compliance with local regulations on distancing. However employees who prefer working from home — including those who are still balancing work and home-schooling or childcare commitments — will be able to do so indefinitely.
“The health and well-being of our employees have been our compass navigating the challenging months of the Covid-19 pandemic”, said Daria Grazzi, SVP of Human Resources at iGenius. “We are confident that offering employees the possibility to work from home as much as they want will not compromise efficiency and productivity. We’ll still gather for specific events or meetings, to the extent allowed by regulations on social distancing, but flexibility is going to be the norm, not the exception.”
iGenius’ new permanent work-from-home policy has been effective since the beginning of June 2020.
